☁️ Step 1 — Deploy Your Free Cloudflare Worker
A tiny free proxy is needed to connect Blogger to the football API. It takes 2 minutes and costs nothing.
- Download the cloudflare-worker.js file (provided with this widget)
- Go to workers.cloudflare.com → sign up free
- Click Create a Worker → delete default code → paste the worker file contents
- On line 20, replace
PASTE_YOUR_KEY_HEREwith your football-data.org API key - Click Save and Deploy → copy the URL shown (e.g.
wc2026.yourname.workers.dev) - Paste that Worker URL in the field below
🔗 Step 2 — Enter Your Worker URL
Paste the Cloudflare Worker URL you just deployed. It should look like https://something.workers.dev
✓ Saved! Loading live data now…
📋 Step 3 — Add to Blogger
Once data is loading correctly in the preview above:
- In Blogger: Layout → Add a Gadget → HTML/JavaScript
- Paste the full contents of wc2026-hub.html into the gadget
- Save — the widget is live! Visitors' Worker URL is remembered in their browser
- The widget auto-refreshes every 60 seconds when matches are live
